Remote Switch to Trigger START/STOP on BMMCC

PostTue Feb 20, 2018 10:05 pm

Does anyone know if it is possible to connect a remote trigger switch for a DSLR, the kind used for long exposures or timelapse, to the LANC input on the BMMCC or BMPCC? I would like to be able to start the camera without touching it, possibly even trigger the autofocus to do it's work prior to starting a take.

If this is not something that could happen natively, would it be possible to program the desired response to the remote switch signals in the camera menu?

Simplest thing you can do is just connect DIY On/Off button switch to the camera.

You coukd also get one of several Lanc remotes. I got the Ursa Mini grip handle, which will give remote focus (on Native MFT lenses) and trigger start/stop recording. The Lamparte start, stop Lanc Remote start/stop button for the BM camerasvwill also work, and is the least expensive option.
