anyone any experience with Gobe ND Filter?

Hi.

I am looking for a variable ND Filter and I bought one of those Gobe Filters on amazon.
But what i got is quite disappointing. After a few tests i notices a strong messy bokeh.

Is that normal in this prize category? I was quite shocked how obvious that is, or did i do anything wrong?
Does anyone made a similar experience with those filters? Or is my filter broken?

I just read in another post that many recommended tiffen or hoya. Do you think buying one of those would solve my problem?

There’s another thread here recently on those filters. Never seen any distortion like that when I use the SLR Magic Vari-ND Mark II.

Hmm, i stumbled accross this link and it looks like this guy made the same experience like me.
Even with more expensive ones like Hoya and Tiffen he was facing this problem.
