ultrascope through a tsblet or tablet pc?

PostTue Apr 16, 2013 12:44 am

Excluding anything with an "I" in front of it, does anybody know of a way I could run scopes through a small tablet or monitor set up while still being as light and mobile as possible? Im looking for something like the atomos ninja 2 but not for recording as my increfible BMCC does that fine.so im not promoting another company.

It's a short list of companies that sell portable monitors/EVFs with HD-SDI inputs (for BMCC & BMPC-4K) or HDMI (for BMPCC) and scopes. A few minutes of web searching should answer questions such weight, cost, etc.

As for running UltraScope on anything other than some (but not all) Thunderbolt-equipped Apple computers, I could be wrong, but I don't think that's available yet.

I thought it would be easier myself. Guess I will try again.

BMD has the new ultrascope duo. Seems to fit the bill.

I think you mean "SmartView Duo", but note it requires a computer to control it (no built-in UI or controls on the monitor itself):

Actually meant the smartscope duo. ;) I think you could just set one as waveform and one as vectorscopes and be basically done with it.

Oops, yes, you are correct about the name. I suppose you could set it in advance to WF & VS, as long as it always powers-up with those settings. Probably too big for on-camera use though.

It would be cool if BMD made a portable "SmartScope Uni" with just one ~8" screen, and some way to switch between video or scopes & control it w/o a computer.
