My first BMCC mini-doc

PostFri Apr 19, 2013 3:37 am

Here's my first BMCC mini-doc..

I shot this in ProRes Film Log.. using a Sigma 30mm F1.4 and Canon EF-S 17-55 F2.8
there are also shots from a GoPro 3 and GH3..

I hope you like it..

Hi Bill: Excellent use of the technology (all of it). Great job.

I'm not usually a fan of mini-helicopter shooting, but you and your team used it to good effect in this piece. It appears that the copter was operated in a safe manner, too.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Theodore and Peter!.. There were no unintentional hair cuts during the production of this film.. :)
Ben and Will from Yonder Blue Films who shot the aerials are great guys and really know their stuff!

Also for those that are interested.
All audio was recorded in-camera.
for the B-Roll I used a Rode videomic and for the interview I used an el-cheapo wireless mic kit from Audio Technica..

This was shot in ProRes film log.. at mostly 800 and 400 ASA and on the 90 and 45 degree shutter angle on the riding B-roll and 180 degrees on the interview and garage b-roll.
Lenses used were a Canon 17-55 f2.8 and Sigma 30mm F1.4. (the sigma used on the interview)
The GoPro3 was set to 1080/60p in protune mode.
This was edited and graded on FCP7
and I don't know about the settings on the GH3.. but I do know that the color was baked in when I recieved the footage.. and it did not want to move closer to match up with the BMCC footage.

Just a weekend bump to highlight more "cinematography" around here! (which is becoming fewer and farther between)
