Corrupt files and wrong metadate

PostTue Apr 24, 2018 12:02 pm

We had an issue on a studio shoot with the Mini Ursa 4.6 where the card supposedly was marked with the metadata of the previous card. Although we shot about 10 takes, only the first would work fine. Next to it there was just one more corrupted file on the CFast Card - so 2 files in total. We use the recommended San Disk Extreme Pro 128 CFast Cards. This issue appeared before but was not checked on properly.

Cheers

The first thing that comes to mind: did you format the card in the camera?
If not: always do that!
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

Yes, we did that, especially as we knew that something might go wrong.

As Uli Plank says.
Also I usually format cards 2-3 times in the camera before use just in case of some hidden leftovers that could damage.
It is known, at least in the past but may not apply nowadays.

Sounds more like a problem with the card reader / computer to me.
The Lexar Workflow CR1/2 and OS-X are a bad combination, and I'd troubles with my Lexar Workflow CR2 and Windows too. I am using a Sandisk reader now.
Saying "Thx for help!" is not a crime.
