Sensor size

PostSun Apr 29, 2018 5:28 pm

Team BMCC,

I have an older BMCCamera with an MFT mount, and I wanted to know what size my sensor is, so that I can match with an appropriately sized MFT lens?

Also, what lenses would you recommend?

Sincerely,
Manuel Pecina

The sensor us 2432x1368 pixels. The photosites are 6.5 microns, do the physical dimensions of the active sensor area are about 15.81x8.89mm.

The image circle needs to cover more than 18mm.

All MFT lenses should cover it, but most 16mm or S-16 lenses mounted with an adapter will not.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

Yes all MFT native lenses will cover the BMCC sensor, no problem.

Have you considered the Micro Studio Camera and pair it with a VA 4K or thr PixeE 5-inch, both record UHD, and thr PixE will record full DCS 4K. The Micro Stuido is th same sensor as the Studio 4K.

Another complete package option is the new Broadcast camera, has the built in monitor, built in recording, no external rigging required, other than mounting it to a tripod.
