USB-C hard Drive recording on Ursa Mini Pro

Any chance a future firmware update will allow the new Cinema 4K capability to record to external USB-C on the Ursa Mini pro also?

No. It's hardware is built for firmware updates only.

Get the BM SSD recorder and put the drives into a cheap enclosure and you are set.

Yeah but that has the following issues

- nabs the SDI port
- is 6G SDI so no 60fps for 4K
- Cannot record the full native sensor
- adds weight and length to the camera

Some things do not change, with an BetaCam ENG Camera we only had 15 and 30 min types, SE we carried a bunch of tapes. So at least yiu can get longer recording times than 30 min on CFast cards, which re much smaller and easier to carry around.

Who said that USB-C can carry 60 fps full frame uncompressed RAW? I don't think so.

BTW, our 'hacked' solution doesn't block the SDI port if you use an angular USB connection or an USB-converter on the D-Tap in the lower left. It adds very little weight too.
