Problem with Video Assist and Micro Cinema

PostMon May 07, 2018 11:27 pm

Greetings!

I am having trouble with my new Blackmagic Video Assist 5" and Micro Cinema Camera. I have updated both devices to the latest firmware, and yet I am still only seeing what I what I would describe as a sort of infrared image on the Video Assist. At first I thought it was a false color setting, but the BVA5 doesn't have that feature, right?

I tried changing all the settings on both devices to no avail. Could it be the HDMI cable I'm using? I've included a picture for reference. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
John

You are looking at a False Color screen, you need to turn off False Color,to see the real image.
That said, False Color is a great exposure tool, giving you a multi spot meter representation of the image to show under/over exposure areas in your scene. Check the VA manual for how False Co,or is turned off/on.
