PostSun May 20, 2018 10:56 pm

Hi folks,

Any tips where to find a 2mm hex driver capable of measuring a torque of 0.45Nm? (I am in USA)

Thanks.

This is the screwdriver I purchased. Very happy with its performance.

You'll need to buy some compatible 2mm allen/hex bits to suit the screws of the URSA Mini mounts.

Rick and I researched this topic when he got his UM 4.6PL, and we worked out the Wera torque screwdriver was one of the best options for thr money. There are better German made drivers, but they are twice the cost of the Wera, and for occasional use, it does the job very nicely.

Yes, very happy with Wera. I bought got mine through OneTip in the USA although I live in Canada. The Canadian torque drivers for small bits were extremely expensive.

The big challenge was finding those tiny bits. I spent a day driving from one hardware store to another sort of on a wild goose chase as each store that didn’t have them recommended another hardware store that didn’t have them. Finally, thankfully, found a great set in a hobby store! So my tip is to forget about hardware stores when it comes to tiny, start with hobby enthusiast stores.

Thank you all. Looks like the Wera is the winner. I just placed the order based on Sean’s links. I love this forum.

Dear Master Rick
I cannot help myself. I really tried.

How does your wife feel about Wera?
I have heard about the Canadians and their problems with small bits.
Could it be the weather what with being so close to the North Pole.

Leon, when the recessed area is small, a small bit is the right tool for the job!
