Has anyone used the BMMSC to shoot Stereoscopic s3D?
I am trying to pair two BlackMagic Micro Studio Cameras to shoot them as a s3D “Stereo Pair”. I then want to edit the footage in DaVinci Resolve.
Equipment in work flow:
Two BMMSC w/SDI cabling: Video signal source. Hopefully 4K.
Two BlackMagic video assists (not 4K): To set camera settings.
One BlackMagic Mini Converter “Sync Generator”: to Gen lock the two cameras.
One/Two Convergent Design Odyssey Q7+ 4K recorders w/Apollo option. (Can recorder duel 4K streams over SDI)
The BlackMagic Micro Studio Camera has “video formats” of: 720P/50, 720P/59.94, 720P/60, 1080P/23.98, 1080P/24, 1080P/25, 1080P/29.97, 1080P/30, 1080P/50, 1080i/59.94, 1080i/60, 2160P/23.98, 2160P/24, 2160P/25, 2160/29.97, 2160P/30.
The BlackMagic Mini Converter “Sync Generator” has setting (thru dip switches) of 1080i/59.94, 1080i/50, 1080psf/23.98, 1080psf/24, 720p/59.94, 720p/50.
Odyssey Q7+ (Apollo Option) has project settings of: 23.98 FPS, 24 FPS, 25 FPS, 29.97 FPS, 30 FPS, 48 FPS, 50 FPS, 59.94 FPS, 60 FPS.
Not being a video engineer, I’m assuming that these are the logical settings of the stated equipment to shoot Two Blackmagic Micro Studio Cameras as a s3D Stereo Pair.
BMMSC set at 1080P/24, BlackMagic Mini Converter set at 1080psf/24, & the “Project Frame Rate” on the Odyssey Q7+ (Apollo Option) set to “24 FPS”.
BMMSC set at 2160P/24, BlackMagic Mini Converter set at 1080psf/24, & the “Project Frame Rate” on the Odyssey Q7+ (Apollo Option) set to “24 FPS”.
BMMSC set at 2160P/29.97, BlackMagic Mini Converter set at 720p/59.94 (2x29.97), & the “Project Frame Rate” on the Odyssey Q7+ (Apollo Option) set to “29.97 FPS”.
If you could give me a little insight on this matter I would deeply appreciate it.
