1080i50 FROM UMP??

PostFri May 25, 2018 1:15 pm

Hi all.

I have a UMP with SSD drive and also a Video Assist (non 4K).

I'm trying to get 1080i50 recorded out.

Setting the camera to record 1080 50fps. When the SSD is connected it greys out the choice of 1080i. meaning that I can't record interlaced to the SSD.

If I disconnect the SSD and attach the VA via the same SDi port, the screen shows 1080 50i but on inspecting the recorded file it's 1080 25p - although the VA spec' confirms it can handle 1080i50. It's a fast SD card I'm using.

How do I do this - any thoughts?

The UMP can only output 1080i50/59.94, it does not record it internally, and thr BM SSD drive is treated like an internal drive. The 1080i50outout is either a 3:2 pulldown of the 1080p25 or a PsF output, which is in an interlace wrapper, which yiur NLE is restoring back to 1080p25. It is not a true interlace output, but works like one with video switching systems or monitors that are interlace only.
