BMPCC LCD screen issue

PostSat Jun 09, 2018 1:29 pm

Hi all,
I attach an image of what my BMPCC screen has been showing over these last few days when the camera is switched on. The obvious white spots do not appear in the footage (tested with many different lenses).
Thanking in advance for any comment.

I looks like the LCD display has been damaged. Time to start saving up for the new Pocket Camera 4K.

Mine started doing this today in the middle of a shoot. Recordings are fine, just seems to be the screen, and my blotches are yellow!

Did anyone find a fix/or repair for this?

Cheers

On AliExpress you can find the LCD screen for 150$. It's practically the same LCD screen.

Hm...Not really obvious which one it is though! Can I get a BM agent here in Australia to replace it?

Cheers

You could be onto something there Ray. It was a sunny day here in Adelaide and the sun may well have goten access through the Loupe lens.

For anyone considering this, AliExpress no longer have these in stock so another source will be required.

That's definitely a sun burn from the sun hitting an unprotected loupe.

I read a few days ago someone with problems with their old pocket LCD too. Someone suggested to rub the screen (gently) with your fingers for some minutes and it got back to normal. I think it was a different issue, but LCD related. You might try that. Try to be gentle and see what way it could be better, take some time doing it. Then report back. Hope it works.

Hi, I have the same problem with my 6k pocket. Nothing hit the camera or anything, but it just happened out of nowhere. I see a yellow spot very similar to yours. It records well and the sensor is fine. Its just the screen. Have you been able to fix it? Could this be fixed as part of the guarantee of the camera?
Thanks,
