BMCC & Good Audio Solution

PostFri Apr 26, 2013 7:47 am

Dear Folks,

I just bought the BMCC and I am in the midst of testing an audio device from Audioroot (Femto).
I must say that there is very little info on good audio solutions for the BMCC. There's offcourse the Juiced Link 366 or the bigger MixPre from SoundDevices, but I don't hear much from the users themselves, the only info I get is from the manufacturers.

Considering I am a one man band, I'm interested in hearing how to get good audio in camera.

Come on guys, what are your audio solutions?!

The BMCC's audio performance has been discussed here previously. BMCC audio has recently been improved via the v.1.3 firmware update, and can be fairly good depending on what mics are used and how they are connected.

For example, I've gotten good results using my old SD MixPre & Sennheiser ME64 mic, and others have gotten good results using JuicedLink Riggy preamps with various mics.

Version 1.3 of the BMCC firmware is available from BMD's website:

In addition to suggestions for settings & gear from others, always record your own tests to verify settings appropriate for your production & workflow.

Thanks Peter,

I thought that the 1.3 firmware update was just containing some interlaced stuff.
Is it true that they moved the attenuation level as well?
