I'm having an issue where I'll be in the field (I mostly shoot handheld, doc-style), and keep having a really terrible issue of my camera shutting off in the middle of shooting. It seems to be related to the battery/v-lock plate. It happens regardless of battery make.
It's not 100% reproduceable. That is to say, I cannot say precisely why this is happening. But it seems to come when I bump, even extremely slightly, the batter from the lower left side. Basically, if the camera is mounted on my shoulder and I'm running or walking fast, and the camera battery taps my head or shoulder the wrong way, the camera shuts off completely.
I can restart no problem, but as you can imagine this creates for an unacceptable situation at times. Any ideas as to why this may be happening I would welcome.
I will say, the vlock plate does seem to be secured well, and there's no jiggle in the battery when I mounted it on the v-lock. It's also not a case of me accidentally pressing the v-lock release button. Here's a video to illustrate. Oh, and this happens regardless of the level of battery charge.
