Loseless 4.6K 60fps Recording

PostMon Jul 09, 2018 10:20 am

Hi,

So I own the UMP and I got the BM SSD recorder and thus I bought the Samsung 860 EVO 1TB to record with it. Everything is fine, however, when I tried to record on the Raw loseless 4.6K 60fps it kept frame dropping and thus ending the recording after 20sec. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks :)

You need the SSD plus a CFast card in Slot 1 for parallel recording.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

Loseless 4.6K 60fps Recording

In a very detailed scene with motion, 4.6K raw can require a data rate greater than 900MB/sec. A simpler scene is still likely about 750MB/sec. AFAIK there are no options to do that frame rate in a BMD camera on a single media which currently top out about 40 frames per second if the scene allows significant lossless compression.

You should be good to go with raw 3:1 on your SSD if that suits your purposes. Give it a try and see what you think.
