If there is no footage you can be sure there is a problem.. wow! one more!!
and if there is a problem you can count on BM.. they won´t ever tell you what is really going on
Explain how a supply issue slowing the shipping of a camera is a useful indicator of the time before launch that a camera needs from when footage is available to when it ships.
The problem with the BMCC shipping has a very detailed explanation of a problem that isn't terribly likely to happen a second time, 2 sensor manufacturers mucking up this badly isn't a huge likelihood.
RED are making Epic Dragons, they are known to be doing this they've even shown themselves making a reasonable number of them. There is also no footage available for it as the firmware and colour science isn't ready.
This means that a manufacturer whether RED or BMD could actually Start shipping cameras in numbers the next day from when firmware is at a state they might want to show pictures from it.
While no footage at this isn't a good sign they will make shipping targets, it is far from proof they will miss it. Hell given the BMPCC is using a similar sensor to the BMCC I'd not be suprised if despite having footage from it it was beaten to market by the BMPC that doesn't, whether eithers actual shipping date is in July or not.
Once again I'm not saying that they will make the July shipping window, just that the footage situation is mostly irrelevant at this stage to whether they will make it or not. Hell there are companies out there (Apple for one) that have only announced products on the day they ship.
