File Management URSA Mini Pro

PostTue Aug 14, 2018 8:27 am

Hi everybody,
would be great to have some kind of file management or 'playback mode' in URSA Mini Pro for operations such as deleting, marking, renaming and maybe also cropping files and that also shows all saved metadata for each clip and project. Best would be a neat thumbnail view of all recorded clips in my opinion.

So far I could not find this sort of things except project naming. Would be great to have this feature in a future update!

Regards Timo

I think marking a clip can be done via the metadata page.
About renaming I am not sure of its usefulness, at least I can't think of scenario where I'd need that.

Deleting/cropping will very likely never come as Blackmagic has stated several times they do not want to introduce problems with the card performance and personally I think it is also dangerous on set because things sometimes happen...
Saying "Thx for help!" is not a crime.

I'm sure they'll never do that.
Only a few amateur cameras have some potentially dangerous features like deleting single clips, but no Red or Arri or any other truly professional camera has it.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

Thank you for your answers Robert and Uli.

Used to be able to delete clips in cameras like Sony's PMWs. Too bad to hear Blackmagic probably won't add a deletion function but at the same time understandable in order to keep things running smoothly. Time to get a DIT... ;)
