UMP - How much current is front 4 pin XLR rated for?

PostSun Aug 19, 2018 4:48 pm

I checked the user manual, and I didn't see any technical information on this. How much current is the front EVF 4 pin XLR rated and fused for?

Yes, unfortunately the manual does not give this info. However, it is designed to power the BM EVF or similar small monitor, like the Video Assist, so it is not a high current output. For additional info, Please do a topic search here, as this question has been asked several times previously.

Yes, I did a search before posting and found a thread specifically talking about what I wanted to know, but there never a real resolution to it. I was just hoping that maybe someone from BMD could chime in with concrete information about the electronic fuse rating not just speculative comments.

As far as i know the front XLR and the back D-tap are both on the same 12V power regulator.. The D-Tap says 12V 1,5A maximum.. So count on that as total power from dtap and xlr.. ;)

For those that want to know I reached out to BMD with their tech support contact form and received an answer.

Hello John,

Specifically speaking, the +12V output is rated for 18 Watts at 1.5 Amps.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Kind regards,
