Lost iris control on Ursa Mini

PostTue Sep 18, 2018 1:22 am

Was shooting a gig yesterday. I had my Canon 70-200mm on my Ursa Mini 4K. Lost iris control out of the blue. Icon on top just said "iris" with no f number. Buttons did nothing. Open a reboot, control came back only to disappear a minute later. Anyone ever have this happen?

I have with my Sigma 18-35 but a reboot fixed it and it didn't happen again on the same shoot.

Good to know. Thanks George. Might have to pickup a variable ND in case this becomes an ongoing issue.

Tested my 70-200mm again after a few weeks. This time shooting in the cold north. Same problem. No f stop in the iris field with lens wide open. However iris control came back randomly while the camera was powered on. I'm afraid the issue will resurface. The contacts are clean, but I now can't rely on this lens in the fear that it will happen again during a paid gig. Hoping a new firmware update will fix this.

Could be tolerances in the mount. You can test that easily by taking out the shims: your lens markings will be off and it'll loose parfocality, but it should work then. If so, it's an RMA.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.
