Can't update my URSA mini pro

PostWed Sep 19, 2018 1:58 pm

Hello BMD and filmmakers,
today I tried to update my URSA mini pro via the camera setup to the latest firmware. If I connect the camera via USB to my computer (Win7 Home Premium x64 SP1), I always get the same error message that the USB driver can not be installed. How can I solve this problem?
Best regards

Hi Thorsten, make sure you installed the Microsoft Update for SHA-2 support.

Read more about this here:

Saying "Thx for help!" is not a crime.

This happened to me on Windows 10 machines. I tried my Surface Book, my desktop, my work laptop, and old SP3 (lol) and none of them detected the camera.

In the past, I found that disabling the device signature requirement fixed the issue. I had to do that to install my BMD panel, because my comp also wasn't recognizing it.

This past time (I've used my Surface Book to update my UMP 4.6k before; for some reason, it worked), I tried two different USB-C cables and disabled the device signature requirement, but it still wasn't detected. It did work once I unplugged the USB-C cable that was connecting my panel and plugged it into the UMP.

There are apparently USB 2.0 > USB-C and USB 3.0 > USB-C. It's possible that the cable matters?

Robert, thank you for the tip. After an update, the URSA mini pro and the Video Assist 4k will now be recognized. Now I can finally work with updated software.

Travis, thank you, too!
