Sound recording on Video Assist 4k

Hello BMD,
in our next movie production we do not want to record the sound with our URSA mini pro, but with our Video Assist 4k monitor. Is the sound quality depending on the video codec or does the selected codec not matter? Then we would use the simplest codec to save the storage space of the SD-card.

Video recording recording codec does not change the audio recording quality p, which is set to a Broadcast standard, 48Hz at 24-bit WAV files, but these audio files are imbedded in the video recording, not recorded separately.
