Why is the BMD Camera app Ipad only?

The title says it all; why is there no app for iphone / other smartphones?

There's a third-party iPhone app. I don't see any Android apps available, but BMD did release an API for developers so it could be in the works.

I was thinking the same a few weeks ago.. Because a lot of people have there iPhone always with them.. Ipad not so much. Would be good to have the official app also for iPhone. But good to have 3th party also.

That’s why it should be on the iPhone. My iPad doesn’t get as much use as my iPhone partially because it is heavier and larger.

Just get this, does pretty much exactly the same as the official iPad
Search for Bluetooth+ for Blackmagic by We Are Empire PTY LTD in the AppStore

I've been using the Bluetooth+ for a few weeks now, and it's worked well. I especially like the apple watch record button.

I wish it had the ability for audio level adjustment though.
