I wish I knew... it seems irrational.

Because it's a minimalist app.

The version 1.0.3 is available here
seccia.com/files/tools/brawviewer.zip

I added thumbnails and "delete file" option (DEL key).

Thanks Sylvain! This is amazing :)

Now, any volunteers willing to make a version for Linux? ;)

Apple doesn't care about post industry at all. Look at their latest show. You can easily get where they are going (or trying to get, but without success ).
BRAw player for Windows can be developed in days with BM SDK (as shown). Problem is that everyone wants it for free and that in reality BRAW atm. is a new format with very tiny usage.

Not quite sure why you would even consider that thought of paying for it when they gave everyone Resolve for free. Right?

I'm talking about donating some developer to make it, not about BM.
Keep waiting then for BM to make Windows player. You may wait need to for quite a time.

Hey guys,

Question for some of the more experienced hands here..

What did you use to preview when you only had Raw CinemaDNG 3:1/4:1?

At this point in time, think it's fair to say that BRaw for Windows player is overdue.
BRaw for the Mac has been out there a very long time and the Windows version was promised to follow.
Seems kind of strange to still be waiting for this player.

I'm very surprised the player is still Mac exclusive currently. Interested in knowing what's the hold up. I filmed something for a client, and handed the footage over, only for them to not be able to see it since their editing system is Windows. Had to also send them an export just to preview it.

BlackMagic's odd preferential treatment for Macs is strange to me. In 30 years of studio work I never used a single Mac computer. And Fusion was originally a PC program. I owned it back in the Eyeon days. Now it seems to be missing half it's export file types because they aren't used on a Mac.
In 7 years in Hollywood the only mac I saw at a studio was at the front receptionist's desk.

What I dont understand is the huge number of people moving to Windows now because Mac is so overpriced, and has limited options. Their very latest Mac Pro is ridiculous in price, not to mention their $6K monitor and stand. As nice as they are.. way way too pricey for all but the wealthiest when you compare it to other options that are nearly as good. Their latest high end laptop for over 4K for a decent setup while decent hardware, is already eclipsed by more capable hardware at 1/2 the price.

As others said.. BM makes high end but affordable cameras.. really should be catering towards the more affordable (yet more capable) hardware of Windows options than Mac. With so many exiting Mac, I have to agree it is really odd they continue down a mostly Mac centric path.

You Miss on fusion like in other software be cause structure of OS is changed, windows itself loss tons of codecs ability, not fusion.
Today you can load ac3 file on resolve yes, but only because they pay patent, Microsoft and adobe stop to pay patents October of last years. The. All project with ac3 now are mute
Don’t think apple is evil, you can find wasted apple everywhere.
So strange that at Hollywood you never find Mac, most of post workstations where are not Linux based were often maxOs based thanks unix Os of mac.
In my last 30 years I used also windows but less stable and linear that unix (from silicon to Solaris to Sco unix and more until to met Linux distro) and OS X workstation, today less than in past Windows with its idiocracy about auto update autosensitive decision that break your workstation because it decide to update driver without your permission seems to me less pro than in past. To me last good windows was Seven, win10 is like Skynet

Mac OS is just so damn fine, mac hardware has become just so damn ridiculous...the new Mac Pro is a complete failure! I would be willing to pay more for mac os..1000$ more, maybe even 1500$...but not 4500$ more for a performance I can get fro 1500$ (no need for xeon and ecc memory).

The fact that BMD hasn't released a windows player yet is very strange to me as well...like really really strange and not understandable...they better think about if they want to roll the apple way...

Hey guys,

So I noticed that if you install the new Blackmagic Camera Setup 6.5, it comes with a Blackmagic Raw Player. I tried launching it and noticed that the cursor is not aligned with the screen. So, the selection is a little off. If you go into Full scren mode, it aligns correctly.
Anyone else seeing this?

This one actually plays a lot smoother than the DIY one and also has audio so it'd be great if I could get this working.

Yes, but my player version has a thumbnail list for preview... very useful to check quickly all footages of the day without opening each video :)

Is there any website for this or any info with updates/new version? Love using it for quick viewing BRAW, and was hoping to see some updates, like ability to specify in/out points and saving those to clips, etc (via CLI if possible).

Updated to the latest Nvidia drivers and still can't get it to work on my desktop (GeForce 1060). It does work on my laptop though (Geforce 940M). Anyone else just getting a blank white screen with the new player?
