Loading FilmConvert LUTs onto P4K

PostFri Dec 07, 2018 4:53 pm

I've had no problems loading other LUTs onto the P4K, but has anyone had any luck exporting a LUT from FilmConvert and loading it onto the camera? Each time I try it it briefly flashes up "loading LUT" but then it doesn't appear on the list on the camera.

I'm presuming there's some kind of incompatibility with the way FilmConvert saves the files. Has anyone else had this problem and solved it?

Load it in resolve and export from it, I’m sure that after this process the lut will work fine

Indeed, you have to export it through resolve.

But do not export the lut right after applying FilmConvert, it won't work because Resolve won't take FC into account.

As mentionned above, you have to export the lut with FilmConvert, then apply it in Resolve, then export with Resolve.

Another solution is to export as a 33 point LUT (I think, or maybe it was the 32... try both) in the Film Convert interface. You can do that in the standalone interface, or in the premiere plugin. If you try to export using any other option it won't work.

Hey guys- somewhat related topic here.

I cannot seem to get the Film Convert file into Davinci. (FKV)

It’s on the desktop but I can’t see where to upload it where it shows up under the LUTs

Amy assistance would be appreciated.

That's the problem. I've tried this, but the P4K won't load it. I'll try the other suggestions (thanks guys) and see if I can get Resolve to export it.

It definitely works for me (when you choose the right point LU). I have a few film convert LUTs loaded onto my pocket that I exported straight from my film convert plugin inside premiere.

Hi, I Just tried it,

I had no problem with exporting a 33 point lut straight from premiere onto the card then loading that into camera, worked no problem for me.

That’s using all default settings other than ‘filmstock’ within the plugin. I only bought it the other day during the sale so maybe it needs an update? Just guessing

Okay, thanks guys. Tried the 33 point one and that's worked!
