Pocket4k that work fine add here

Too often I reed only posts of problems, then people that browse web think that camera have only problems
Please if your camera is ok and work fine add a +1 here in this thread.

It's funny, this is a problem endemic to all user forums: if people are happy with a product they are unlikely to search out a forum to post complaints or questions, so forums get filled with posts from people who have problems. It's sort of the opposite of survivor bias.

If you look at any online Mac forum, such as Macintouch, you would never consider buying a Mac computer because the impression from reading the posts is that Macs are incredibly buggy, unreliable machines. Same goes for any Windows forum and most software forums. Occasionally people who are really happy with a product will post on a forum just to say how much they love it, but they're usually the exception rather than the rule.

I have had two pocket4k cameras (I sold the first one on ebay for a profit and then bought the second).

The first one had no issues, the 2nd came with a bad battery door but blackmagic sent me a new one free of charge and now my 2nd one has no issues either.

Got my P4K in November. Working primarily in Prores 422, with Angelbird AV PRO SD 128GB UHS-II SDXC card. Love it, not one single frame dropped.

I have 3 Blackmagic LP-E6 batteries, and the 2.5mm barrel to 2-pin from the Blackmagic Pocket Camera DC Cable Pack connected to V-lock battery.

My bmpcc 4k works. The image is really amazing.
The display and menu just wow!
I had the previous bmpcc so this was a huge upgrade for me.
Also the dual iso, I was in complete darkness on a road without any lights
shooting cars driving in a fog! Never had usable footage in this light conditions
until now. I actually did not care about 4K. But I am now shooting only in 4K.

The only bug I have, The sd card sometimes does not show up.

1. uncompressed dci 4k raw at 60 fps. But 48 fps works with the media I have, which is not the fastest available.
2. auto focus with a metabones ef adapter. Which I am hoping is fixed with a firmware update.

I still need to check the the mini-xlr input.

1. It will be possible only if Blackmagic Design enable double recording on cf and ssd on usb-c there is a problem of recording bandwidth of single support, like for ursa that enable it only with dual parallell recording

2. Same here, but I think both (metabone and bmd ) must check communication protocols. I see enabled stabilisation and iris, autofocus to me is not a priority especially without a continuous autofocus function from camera

Mine works fine except...

1. The red LED doesn’t work when charging. But the camera can charge battery and it doesn’t seem to
be a problem with the power cord. Maybe fixable with a firmware update.

2. Battery door is a bit flimsy.

3. Sound level with external mic is horrible. I believe this is a universal problem that is fixable with a
firmware update. So not an actual fault, but annoying.

+1 so far....but I think everyone who posts here just jinxed themselves!

Very happy with the little beast. Does exactly what I was hoping it would - portable, light, gimbal friendly, pleasing image - and my clients are also very happy with the results.

Cuts well with all my other BMD cameras, especially the URSA Broadcast.

My 4K Pocket finally arrived a little over a week ago. No probs out of the box and all good so far : )

I also rented 3 of them from Borrowlenses for a multi-camera shoot a few weeks ago. All 3 worked flawlessly.

Delighted with mine.
Has been working fine for over a Month without any real issues.
Occasionally decides to not see the attached Samsung SSD but a quick
Off/On usually fixes that.

I got mine in the first batch from B&H and it's been fine. I do have a hard time pressing the iso wb and still buttons on the top. I have to use my finger nail and press them in very far for the function to activate. Not sure if they are all like this or not

Done a few paid jobs with it now without issue. Coming from the canon 5D mk 3 with magic lantern the pocket 4k is an absolute dream.

Got mine back in October and I love it. My only issue is that sometimes it doesn't recognize my SSD drive, but usually turning it off and on a couple times fixes it, so no big deal.

Worked perfectly so far

I have had my camera about a month with the Olympus 12-40 Zoom. I had one defective (Canon!) battery that would not charge, but in all other respects the unit has functioned exactly as advertised. Many, many of the complaints posted here are simply reality not living up to the expectations of a camera that was probably announced too far ahead of it's actual release date. I would wager that BM would privately admit they should have held off a bit on their announcement and delivery projections. The longer that buyers have to imagine their perfect version of the camera while awaiting it's arrival, the greater the gap between reality and expectations seems to grow. The pre-order numbers would seem to indicate they greatly under estimated the demand for a camera of this type.

After months of using a friend's pocket4k when he wasn't using it, now I have mine
Work like a charm, many friends reiceved their pocket4k (bought in italy, germany, france and spain).

Absolutely, I have 2 Pocket4K, both worked flawlessly for the past 5 months!

I've had mine since September last year. Works great, no complaints at all.

Got mine about 2 months ago, working perfectly. I like the way I can use SD cards. BRAW is a necessity, really helps with any noise, definitely the image I prefer over ProRes, but love the ability to have both! I have an UMP as well and overall like the noise pattern a ton on the P4K even if it’s not as fine of a pattern.

Our first one arrived last November and we’ve had our second one for a couple months. They both have been put through a lot of professional jobs with no issues at all.

Mine is working perfectly too, using CFast from Angelbird and Wise and the Wise 1TB SSD.

I hope to join you soon, should receive mine next week after waiting for four months.
