Ok I have two questions. I just bought an external battery bank for my pocket 4k and I want to take a part the power cable two pin connector and attach it to a dc cable. How do I connect the wires? And do I have to solder them to connect them? Also I already know that Blackmagic sells a two pin to dc cable but I don’t have $55 to spend so I rather do it myself lol.

$55 (or less - CoreSWX has one for $35, I think) vs asking strangers on the internet how to solder a wired connection that might fry my camera or catch fire....

I know what I'd, do, but to each his own.

hers's one video, and I have the same cords as him. Do I connect both the red and black wires from the pigtail the one white wire from the pocket 2 pin connector. Also the part I'm talking about int he video is at 2:17.

Use multimeter to find positive and negative on battery. Solder positive to pin1 and negative to pin2. You can find PIN numbers on connector

do have to solder or can I just wrap them around and use black electric tape

Chris, they need to be soldered, and if you do not have experience soldering, then I suggest you take it to an electronic technician or camera repair and get them to do it for you.

I guess its time to learn how to solder it shouldn't be that hard

good news everyone, I ended up being successful and I did it without soldering. All I had to do was make sure it was a good enough connection by twisting them, even though I do recommend soldering, but it's whatever. Thanks to Tom Antos I knew which wires to connect to. Black Magic made it confusing because with the dc cable pack I see a two pin connector with a black and white insulator shield. But if you take the AC adapter apart you see a white shield with silver wire wrapped around it. I have learned a lot about wires through my journey lol. But here is the video just in case if anyone want to take a crack at it.

To remove cable insulation and not damage wire you need dedicated Wire Stripper. There are a lot of different designs of the same tool but i personally prefer something like this one:

To connect wires in most accurate way i can suggest use these little tubes. Put wire ends inside and squeeze with any hand tool. Google something like "50Pcs Non Insulated Rolled Butt Crimp Connectors Terminal For 18-22 AWG Gauge Electrical Wire Cable Connection"

There are also similar connectors for larger size electrical cables

For insulation use tape or Heat Shrink Tube

Very interesting. Quick and easy solution but seems less reliable that metal joints. Heat tubes prone to stretch over time and wires connection may weak. Also seems it easy to break if pull cable. Metal joint tubes holds cable and insulation together so cable connection never break if pulled.
