Got my P4K last week and have been having a blast. Has anyone found a monitor hood that easily attaches to the camera’s built in monitor? Trying not to make the leap to an external monitor just yet.

I have a 3DR Screen Hood for Select Tablets B&H # 3DTS11ATSH MFR # TS11A for a 3DR Solo Quadcopter that is 8 3/8" wide, 6 7/8" deep and 5 1/8" high. It was designed for the 7.87" x 5.3" Apple iPad mini 2. I have a Smallrig 2203 full cage and use a Sony NP-F970 battery mounted vertically next to my Samsung T5 SSD using the included bracket from a 12V kit with BMPCC4K power connector from the Ringteam Tech Store on Aliexpress.
If I attach some adhesive backed Velcro to the bottom of the battery then I can use it to mount the hood below it. The side panels of the hood fold down and magnetically attach to two 15/16" side tabs that fold out from the smartphone back plate. I should be able to cut out that plate to view the screen and operate the screen buttons. The side panel can be tilted out to the side and then snap back in place if my hand needs more room to push the screen buttons.

Tilta makes a cage for the BMPCC 4K, and among the (tons of) optional accessories is a rubber hood for the screen that attaches to the cage via a screw. I bought the hood but when I attach a V-mount or gold mount battery to the rear of the camera, the screen will definitely be obscured nevertheless (and it does not swivel), so I would still use an external monitor in this case. But if you want to use the screen outdoors in some circumstances, then there you have a decent solution.
They also make an extended hood that is very deep and should work very well blocking all the light hitting the screen and there's a cut-out on the bottom for touch-screen accessibility. But Tilta is apparently still working on their production, they still haven't shipped my V-mount battery plate yet because their production hasn't caught up yet. You'd better ask about availability before you order.

Brilliant suggestions, thank you! I ended up ordering one of the smartphone sun hoods recommended. Might rig it up with some velcro.

That looks great. What I really want to do is get someone to 3d print me out an adapter that would go from 5" down to 3" so my zacuto loupe could clip onto it.

Without cutting it up (I still want to have one for my Quadcopter, so I will order another) I taped my 3DR Screen hood against my BMPCC4K. The bottom fits flush with the cage bottom. I added 1/8" of cardboard below the battery to simulate Velcro. The Hood has not been cutout for the battery holder so it tilts down and doesn't line up with the bottom of the battery. The top of the hood is magnetically attached to the sides of it's base and could tilt up more if it wasn't square with it. There is plenty of room to operate the buttons. There is a lot of shade for direct sunlight but you would have to hold the camera up high to see through the hood.

I already had this ProAm hood (US$18) for my video assist 5inch - just added a thin strip of stickyback velcro around the screen on my BMPCC 4K. Think they're also available on Amazon

I think you misidentified the model number; although the general description text is the same for the L111, which of these did you actually purchase and show us here:

This is amazing and exactly what i'm after. Is there any chance you would be able to share the 3d print files? i have a friend that could print one, i really need to just attach to the BMCCP4K without a cage and this is ace!

Oh wow this is ace, please is it possible to get a link to the 3D print files?

Open hoods only protect against light striking dust to fingerprints on the and won't stop screen reflections. For that you need a loupe. I 3d printed one using the optics from a hoodman 3" loupe but it's very bulky and I no longer use it. I find the screen OK in bright sunlight when turned up to 100% brightness.
