UM46 + Asahi Pentax Super-Takumar radiation

PostMon Jan 07, 2019 12:04 pm

I've been looking into purchasing some vintage lenses to shoot with my UM46K and recently found a set of Asahi Pentax Super-Takumar's (35mm f2, 50mm f1.4, 85mm f1.9) for a good price. Researching more about them, I've become aware of the radioactive Thorium rear elements that may be present in a number of these lens models.

Will shooting with mildly radioactive lenses degrade the UM46K sensor?

Do anybody have experience shooting with these lenses?

Thanks
