well, it looks like YOU HAVE TO FORMAT THE DISK FROM YOUR COMPUTER, DON'T USE THE CAMERA FORMAT.

Now that i formatted it from my pc it records without many problems at 4k 3:1 raw.

Yet there are some frame drops, but not so rilevant.

I don't have that particular SSD so I won't be able to troubleshoot perfectly here but...

Have you tried using the hard drive on a computer to see if it works properly?
Have you tried formatting in camera before recording?
Have you tried formatting on a computer before recording?
Have you tried both mac and exfat formats?
Have you tried a different cable?
Have you tried recording to any other storage devices?
Do you have the most recent firmware for the camera?
Have you tried resetting the firmware on the camera to factory conditions?

It could be a bum cable, bum SSD, hardware problem in camera, software problem in camera, a number of things. It is hard to gauge if it is an issue with the hard drive or camera without this kind of information.

I guess we were trying to post at the same time, ha ha!

You should not have issues, according to BMD, with recording 3:1 at up to 60p on that drive. If you are getting dropped frames, it sounds to me like there is still something amiss.

I have a Samsung T5 500GB and it works flawlessly as stated on the BMD supported media list except for the fact it has to be plugged in after you turn on the camera to be recognized 100 percent of the time, which is stupid but doesn't affect the recording capability.

Your SSD should not be dropping frames at 3:1 60p...

Gary, I believe the Wise SSDs are formatted as ExFAT when you buy them. Did you format as HFS+ or ExFAT? I’d recommend staying with ExFAT just because it uses less resources.

Both formats should work though, but if I had that problem and found a workaround then I’d just do whatever works.

I have the Wise SSD 512gb. I have formatted it twice in camera (BMPCC4K) no problem.
No camera stopping, no dropped frames. I have actually been extremely impressed with the drive.
So far I have not tried to shoot 4K raw, only ProRes HQ. But it has been perfect.

I changed it with a new one. The one i had was not working properly.

Great customer care by WISE, they called their local reseller and told them to change my unit immediately.
