New pocket 4k not recognised by Windows

PostFri Jan 11, 2019 8:14 pm

So I finally received my nice new pocket 4k camera yesterday.
The firmware version is 5.2, but I thought I'd try installing the camera setup software anyway.
Both the 5.,2 and 6.0 version claim there isn't a camera connected, but it is (yes I did read that there are no new features for this camera in v6). I've tried this on two laptops and my studio machine.
Although the only suitable cable I have - USB to USB-C - is the one that came with the Samsung T5 SSD I bought for use with the camera.
Am I doing something stupid? or should this work?..
Thanks,
Sean

Am not sure what the post above is saying, but on the two Windows machines I tried, neither would recognize the camera using usb-3 (the blue port), but both saw the camera via usb-2.

I always have this problem on Win 10 with the Ursa Mini/Pro with new fw versions.
Maybe it's the same for you.

I have similar issues on my Win 10 machine when trying to connect my DJI drone via USB . Win 10 prevents unsigned drivers from working as a security feature.. the remedy is to boot the computer in a mode that allows unsigned usb drivers to work...perhaps thus same type of conflict is happening with the BMD products...
