I just updated the firmware and I no longer have control of the iris through my Viltrox adapter. I'm using the latest version 3.2 of the adapter

Any ideas!?!

I read somewhere else that installing the old firmware V2.3 brings back control, so I did that, and I have control again, albeit at the expense of the fixes that V3.2 included.

Send a message to BM support and downgrade to the last software until they fix it.

Boris, I read somewhere here that if you went back to firmware 2.3 ON the Viltrox all functions will restore and you can stay with 6.1

Yes, going back to Ver 2.3 restores Iris functionality.

Downgrading Viltrox' firmware back to 2.3 does restore iris-functionality - at least on my Sigma 18-35.

i confirm, BMPCC4K FW 6.1 update - the 18-35 sigma works fine here with the viltrox 2.3 FW.

And what about the plain version - EF-M1?

I just got mine and it doesn't work at any firmware, as well as 5.2 on the pocket 4k...

I thought that it was identical with the M2 without the optics.
Can someone confirm if it is supposed to work with the pocket 4k at least?

Oh that's a pity. My EF-M1 worked on the P4K with the latest Viltrox-firmware pre P4K-6.1

But now I rhink this might be due to a deffect adapter.
I’ll try to find another mtf body to see if works at all.

I am very new to this forum.

Can anyone tell me how to revert (downgrade) firmware?
I just want to go back to where it was.

Yes, I downgrade Viltrox firmware, and got "somewhat" control on Sigma 18-35mm - now this lens behave strangely. ex) On screen Iris numbers change, but no change on actual Iris. Image get brighter, while numbers going up,....
All my canon EF lenses are screaming and refuse to work.
I never had these problems.
Everything worked fine and I was happy, - very happy with this camera until I upgrade(?) firmware.

The information I am asking is what firmware I should go back to ( I received around Dec 20 2018), and how to do this.

The downgrade for the M1 worked for me. With the 2.3 firmware I even got the stabilization of my Sigma 15-50 back.

Actually, I just received a replacement and it worked with the 5.2 firmware (as I had downgraded).
After updating the Pocket to 6.1. it stopped working.
I downgraded the adapter to 2.3, but nothing changed. Repeated all updates twice - the adapter doesn't work anymore...

Any suggestion what I might have done wrong?
Do I have to reset somehow the adapter/camera...? Any magic words?

Did you choose the right model (M1/M2) for the firmware? Did you unmount the adapter from the camera/lens when updating? Which lens are you using with the adapter?

I have the Sigma 18-35 and Sigma 50 1.4 art.
Yes, I got the right firmware and unmounted the adapter...

What firmware was yours on before the 6.1. firmware?

For me both the M1 and M2 is impossible to update from my Mac (Mojave)
Works fine on a PC....

Jerry, you just saved me! That’s it! On the mac the firmware only seemed to be updating, how would one guess that nothing actually happens... after trying on my imac (mojave) and macbook (high sierra), it only got updated on pc! Iris works now finally. Thanks a lot!

Guy mine not work,

i alr downgrade my Viltrox EF-M2 to 2.3, but it doesn't work, i cant see or change the Iris

My combo: BPCC4k + Viltrox + Sigma 18-55 Art

Can someone comment on the procedure for downgrading the firmware.

this is what I've done....

1) Plug Viltrox into pc (not attached to camera etc)
2) sees it as a storage device
3) Copy 2.3 file to device
4) Just sits there....... and does nothing ie no reboot etc

I did update to 3.3 previously and the device rebooted after the copy so I would assume it works. But doesn't seem to work for the 2.3 file. Any ideas?

Confirmed working now!

So what you do is download this v2.3: http://www.viltrox.com//en/uploads/2018 ... 237965.zip
- plug in usb cable to pc
- copy the .vtx file to the drive that shows up
- turn on the camera with adapter several times it should do the update.
- try the aperture settings.
- if it doesn't work first time try removing the lens and putting back on
- smile your camera is working again

Turns out the problem was between the keyboard and the chair.. Trying to upgrade EF-M2 with EF-M1 firmware.
Downloaded the correct file and away we go.
