Cant update BMPCC4K on Windows 10

Hello,

As the title implies, I've tried connecting my camera to my laptop via both a USB 3 to USB C port and a USB C to USB C port. Both times, the computer says that the device malfunctioned and it does't pop up on the computer.'

Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks!

If it said it malfunctioned then it’s most likely the usb cord, try another one and see if it still says it has malfunctioned

Which Antivirus software are you using? On Windows 10 some might restrict USB access if they find the connected device suspicious.

Turned off Anti-virus and tried other cords, not working. Perhaps I need to try another computer.

Try what everyone else has tried and often works, use a USB2 hub or USB2 extension cable.

DITTO on this. BMD tech told me that I would have to do an RMA to fix this issue. Turns out, a USB 3 to USB 2 hub makes it possible to connect with no problems at all. It is some kind of communication issue inherent in the camera through certain USB inputs. The 2.0 or 1.0 should work fine.

Was there ever an established solution for this?

I've been unable to update my Pocket 4K. I use the exact same cable to update my UMP and also attach my Micro Panel to the computer. When I plug in my P4K with it, it is detected but not recognized (same thing as several other owners have reported).

I've tried plugging into the USB 2.0 ports on my computer, as well as a USB 3.0 hub. I don't own a USB 2.0 hub. No luck.

Has BMD ever addressed this? Sure would be nice to at least know which cords to use or ports to plug into.
