No side handle, or how Blackmagic calls it, handgrip. They list the handgrip as a $199 option.

Okay, no issue. I need a new side-handle anyways. So buy one for $199 and then order the UMPG2 once I have the space on my cards after getting this laptop paid off.

B&H Photo has it wrong then in the their description of the G2:

"To make the camera more acceptable for handheld usage, a side handle is included. "

just a quick update...
I've noticed several American stores have stock of the G2 now. Not heard anything about Europe yet but Instagram is alive with pictures of stock coming in.

As a side note, has anyone got a link to a solution for mounting an external hard drive as I'd like to record out of the coast port :)

Velcro. I use velcro to mount my T5 drives to the BMPCC4K (stick the verclo tape to a free flat spot anywhere).

Holdan are the UK distributer, would be worth giving them a call for an update.

Jamie, someone at B&H just did a paste and copy or quick edit to the original UM Pro listing, and either did not know the side handle was dropped or forgot to delete it in the new listing. The Ursa Broadcast is also shipped without the side handle, as it is redundant when using ENG Zooms.

What would be grand, would be a side handle/grip designed like the B4 ENG Zoom lens grip, with a Focus/Zoom rocker, record and iris buttons, that are a different size.

My hope/guess is that June is an estimate for new orders and not for those that have already placed an order. My store originally was listed as April and than May and now says June.

Any official updates on shipping?
I hope this won't end up in the same tragedy like with the Pocket 4K.

Alex it’s shipping. I spoke to Adorama here in New York. They had 8 cameras come in last week. They all went to pre orders. I have 4 people in front of me in queue. They said I should receive mine in the next batch. The cameras usually come in every 2-3 weeks

Why wouldn't it be shipping. Its virtually a continuation of the existing camera upgraded a little. I'm more interested in how noise and dynamic range now looks otherwise there is very little to be excited about and to wait for. It looks like a camera you could wait for till September, whereas the pocket was something you did not want to wait for.
