Camera Update 6.3 BMPCC4k

PostSat Apr 20, 2019 9:27 am

I'm new to BMPCC4k.. 6.3 seems to have no updates to the PCC4k, should I update to it anyway? - I presume the camera Update download is the same for the URSA as it is for the BMPCC4k?

It won’t hurt anything to try but if you have the latest update for the BMPCC4K, it won’t be of any value. I understand each firmware update package includes the latest version for all cameras and the installer determines what to do based on your camera, but someone please correct me if that’s wrong.

My camera says 6.2.1 is its latest version after downloading and installing/running Camera update 6.3

Thank you.. well that definitely answers my question about it being a universal file!

Off topic slightly… It was strange that when I plugged my camera directly into my Mac Pro (L2013), the camera update utility didn’t know that my camera was connected! When I plugged it into the USB3 hub it then recognised the camera! I would have thought this to be Imagethe other way around .. but there you go!

Same experience here doesn't make sense, the 4 USB ports on our Mac Pros' are supposed to be USB 3!

FW 6.3 is just for the new UMPro II, to add FW support to this new model and fix a few bugs in the Pro II Camera. Nothing here for any other camera, keep moving along...
