URSA Mini Pro G2 Dual Record

Would anyone know if it's possible to do a duel recorder with the URSA Mini Pro G2? I see it has the ability to recorder to a hard drive via a USB-C, but does it have the functionality to record to a C-Fast card at the same time? Thank you for any info on the subject.

Probably not, as so far no BMD had the ability to do so.

If the new UM Pro follows how the Pocket 4K is set up, the USB-C is set to the SD card slot, and switches to USB-C when SD card media is selected. You need to select SD or CFast recording slots on the camera. As all the Ursa Mini Sr Ge of Cameras Support inky recording to SD or CFast, not both at the same time, I agree with Robert, probably not going to see recording to USB-C and CFast cards at the same time.

It takes the second card slot... whether you have your internal media switched to CFast or SD card it will show up as slot 2. No dual record at this stage but I'll consider it a feature request.

I would definitely request dual recording capabilities for the Pocket 4K and the UMP G2, especially if it could be different formats to each card. Having a proxy file to hand off while you take the raw to edit would be great.

Recording two different formats at the same time might not be technically possible. When you switch from one recording format to another the camera does a soft reboot. That is also the reason why in playback mode you only see the files of the recording format your camera is currently set to.

Count me in onto the feature request for dual recording. That would be a cool safety feature for those instances where you want to make sure nothing goes wrong. I had an incident where my Lexar CFast card died after recording interviews with two CEOs- without me noticing and I had to reshoot several days later at my own expenses. Luckily the corporate client took it nicely.

Dual slot recording would be really great...so I hope for a firmware update....
