Lenses for EF mount BMC

Im sticking with the EF mount cause most of my lenses are EF mount ready anyway, I guess my question would is , what is the widest you can use right now on the BMC without much distortion and having a descent picture. Also, can someone explain what the equivalent of an 11mm would be on this camera.

The BMCC's crop factor relative to S35/APS-C motion picture cameras is 1.6. Relative to a FF cam, the crop is 2.3. Of the two, the 1.6 crop is perhaps the more useful comparison for filmmakers.

At its wide end, the Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 zoom yields a FOV equiv. to a 18.5mm lens on a S35/APS-C motion picture camera, about the widest most movies & TV dramas typically use.

If you want wider, the Sigma 8-16mm f4.5-5.6 is another good rectilinear zoom lens. At its wide end, its FOV is equiv. to a 13mm lens on S35/APS-C, crazy wide.

The new BMCC m43 model allows use of additional ultra-wide lenses, including faster native m43 manual primes, or PL mount cine prime manual lenses.

(The crop factor is identical for the BMCC EF & BMCC m43 models.)
