You could use Adobe Audition to help cut down the sound through noise reduction and then maybe use a Parametric EQ, or any EQ and bring back some bass in the person's voice if you're working with dialogue.
If it's just a sound though, you might be able to get away with noise reduction in Audition. You'll have to play with it because in order to get rid of all the noise, you'll probably distort the sound but you can play with it and find the right balance.
And by 'right balance', I mean as good as you can get it with the on camera mic, you probably can't eliminate all the noise
