Hi,

I wonder if I could swap pocket's EF mount with BM URSA PL mount? :?:

Short answer, No.
The Pocket 6K is a fixed EF mount, not designed to be user removable, like the Ursa Mini Pro Cameras and Broadcast cameras. That said, word on the street is, Wooden Camera is making a PL lens mount modification for the Pocket 6K Camera, like it did for the original BMCC.

The Ursa PL mounts only work with the Ursa Mini Pro Cameras and the Ursa Broadcast Camera.
Cheers

Interested in the battery plate features. Not cheap at $299USD, but may be worth it. Thanks, Jamie and Denny.

Yes, that is a very nice, Pro-Series Battery Plate, all metal construction, so it should hold up.

Do you think you’ll pick up the PL mount replacement for the BMPCC6K?

If lower price and convenience are a factor, there are good passive PL-EF mount adapters. If have the one from SLR Magic. Having the PL adapter supported on a rig will likely strengthen the lens to resist twisting when moving the lens gears.

That seems very reasonably priced. But please heed the warning that the BMD mounting screws are only set into the polycarbonate composite, not metal. If you want to do this, I’d suggest it’s a one-way street, do it once for as long as you use the camera and go back to EF when you sell the camera if requested by the purchaser. No way you want to risk wearing out the thread doing this once a month or more. This is not anything BMD envisioned in the design of their mounts.

I agree Rick, like the EVF mod, this is a one-way modification. Given the price of the camera, get one for t(enPL mod, and a second body to keep as a EF mount. Someone like you, who only has PL glass, going with the PL mod, would be a one-way ticket, no need to change it back.

At that price, I’d seriously consider a permanent change, but I already have a very good PL->EF adapter from SLR Magic. Adapter is almost as good as the ‘permanent Wooden Camera mount replacement, and much easier to pop on and off.

Which is a good adapter Rick, and works for your APOs, but it is very limited in the lenses it will accept. The WC PL Mount is a full PL mount, and will take any Arri PL standard lens.

Yes, thanks, Denny. The SLR Magic PL->mFT is currently mounted with my Tokina Cinema ATX 11-20mm that is also built to the same rear specifications. Thankfully I have the Wooden PL->mFT for any future PL lenses that I might acquire.
