Paint node - Inspector settings not there

In the Paint node, after a Project is shut down and the opened up again, the Inspector Control settings for the Paint node are not there. Why is that?

I don't want to start a new Paint node because I'd have to re-enter all the parameters that I need in that node.

That is really weird. The only time I see a Paint node do that is when it is an orphan...not connected.

To rescue your work, you can try this:
Right click the node
Select Settings
Select Save As....

The settings will be saved and you can re-import them to another paint node.

The saved file will look something like this:

Unconnected nodes are one of those banes of using Fusion that always seem to get you from time to time. To ensure that your paint node is connected, use the mouse to drag it around on the node graph - if it's connected then the input and output lines will move with it. If they don't, then you need to reconnect the lines.

Here's another possibility:

You can pack a lot of different strokes into a single paint mode. Each stroke is called a "modifier". The stroke you're currently working on is what normally appears in the Inspector panel, the other strokes are stored in a list in the "Modifiers" tab of the panel. To see them, click the tab:

Double-click the stroke name to open it up. When you open up one stroke, any others that follow it will appear below it in the Inspector panel. If you can't find the stroke you're looking for it's probably down below the screen - scroll down in the Inspector panel to find it.

It takes a while to get used to the way the Paint node operates. You'll often see an "extra" stroke listed in the modifier panel that represents the next stroke you make, even though you haven't made it yet. I find that right-clicking the name of the strokes you've made and using "Rename" to give each one a descriptive name really helps to keep you sane.
