Green and Magenta pixel artifacts in Davinci 19 Public Beta2

PostTue May 21, 2024 7:05 am

Hello.

Is anybody experiencing similar artifacts while editing/cutting .r3d RED files in Davinci resolve 19 Public Beta2?
Appears at random time while just scrolling through and cutting clips in edit page timeline.
Once artifacts appears they are in all tabs (Edit,Fusion,Color..)
Usually disappears after rebooting computer.
Same time on parallel timeline DJI Mavic footage for example does not have these artifacts so i assume it is not a graphics card fault.

Update:

Similar issue happened in another project with Sony SLog3.Cine files AFTER generating Optimized media.

If i toggle off Playback - Use Optimized Media if possible artifacts disappear.

Optimized media is set to:

You can report issues with version 19 in the Beta forum at the top of the Resolve page.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

And this did not happen with DR 18?
Older Intel Mac laptops are not really up to R3D footage. You may need a M* machine or a good desktop PC.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

Studio 18.6.6, MacOS 13.6.7, 2017 iMac, 32 GB, Radeon Pro 580
MacBook M1 Pro, 16 GPU cores, 32 GB RAM
Sonoma 14.5 with 19b3 (sandbox)

This is simply not true.
Yes, true, it was sometimes lagging if 6K footage playback on 4K timeline but was pretty good with 6K footage on 1080P timeline at Timeline proxy media - Full quality.

And for sure newer I noticed anything like this before.

Also in my second post this happens not only with .R3D files but with proxy files (Optimized media) form Sony SLog3.Cine when optimized media generated in ProRess.
