@GregGreenhaw's solution in the other threat worked for me (Windows 10): simply disable your internet connection.

I think that is some API framework problem. I know that Win7 Pro is unsapported but with DR Studio 12.5.5 work like a charm.

I also updated from Resolve 12.5 to the new Resolve 14 beta. Since then DaVinci Resolve sadly isn't booting on my Windows workstation als well as on my MacBookPro.
On both operating systems it is showing the Resolve loading screen and then stopping to work, never showing the project manager.
Does anyone already find a fix for that problem. Seems like I can't use it for a while.

Same here on Win 10 Pro build 15063 and Resolve 14.0.0020 running on:
AMD Ryzen r1700 at stock clock and voltages
64GB DDR4
1TB m.2 PCIe SSD (Samsung 960 PRO)
1TB SSD RAID (2x 512GB Samsung 950 EVO)
Dual MSI GTX1070 GAMING-X 8GB GPUs

I get the crash on start regardless of SLI configuration. It did start the very first time but crashed when I tried to open Preferences.

I've tried rebooting, uninstalling and reinstalling, in various combinations (e.g. just reboot, uninstall-reboot-reinstall, reinstall-without-reboot, etc) to no avail.

Actually I found the problem thanks to windows event viewer.
Problem was caused by the Wave VST (WaveShell-VST 9.6_x64.dll).
I just moved it away of my VST folder and Resolve now starts
Hope it'll help someone else :)

Resolve 14 took out my disk database on Windows, and won't add an existing database on Linux.

Best to backup any data first thing.

Big question is what happens if you upgrade a mini panel to 14, and 14 doesn't work. Does the panel still work in 12.5?

Cheers.

Same problem for me to, Windows 10, splash screen crashes at 'Loading Waveforms' , then I have to wait 5 minutes for before it allows me to load again, then same crash again.

Data base was backed up but no damage appears to be done after rolling back to 12.5.5.

Never had this issue with any previous Resolve versions including betas.

Cheers,

I thought my problem is related to Postgres, as I received some message, that our domain password policy requires stronger password or something like that. Downloaded Postgres and installed manually. Installed Resolve and Panel only. During the start, splash screen appears, stuff is being loaded, and then nothing happens. In Windows log, I can see a problem with the msvcrt120.dll. Tried to download it again from MS, to no avail.

You could try one thing as I faced a similar problem and it fixed it.

Right click the Icon and select "Run as administrator" might help.

As mine was a fresh install on a freshly installed Windows 10 x64 PC, there was also a problem with the Microsoft C++ libraries not being installed properly to run DR 14.

I followed these steps.

1. Uninstall DR Studio 14 beta.
2. Started the install of DR Studio 12.5.5
3. After the installation of the MS C++ libraries, I cancelled the setup.
4. Installed DR Studio 14 beta.
5. Right clicked icon, "Run as administrator" the first time. Closed app after the first start.
6. Then run the program normally.

It seems to be working perfectly fine thus far for me with no audio issues or crash (I went with a clean Windows and DR install as earlier had audio issues).

Hope this helps.

Hi,
I hesitate to answer because I never needed to use it but in C: \ ProgramData \ Blackmagic Design \ DaVinci Resolve \ Support => There is a "setupfirewall.bat"
Never needed to use it: maybe do a search in the forum.

When I installed 14 these were flagged as well. I just told it to install anyway. Now running very well.

14.0b1 is completely dead.

I'll look at the .bat. Thanks for the heads up on it.

So....

whatsup with that MSVCR120.dll?

I have a ton of C++ installations on my workstation, would it help to uninstall them and just install the latest?

I had what seemed to be issues with MSVCR120.dll . Spent a heap of time trouble shooting around that, deleting it, installing a new copy etc etc...made no difference in my case.

DR14 had loaded the very first time, but after that it wouldn't load. Turns out (and a few others have had the same) the issue came from importing my 12.5 database. worked once but not again. And even deleting DR14 and reinstalling didn't fix

I deleted the database, and restarted, set up fresh new database and all has been great since. Have had to bring in projects via DRP's, but once there all good.

Of course - this was all done with a backup of the 12.5 database and on a clean OS install (win10)

Seems there may be a problem for some with the 12.5 database giving DR14 some grief.
Maybe backup, and move the current database so the DR14 install can't see it and try that?

I'm also experiencing Resolve 14 crash on start up. The application was fine initially, but then started having problems after I deleted a few Projects using Project Manager.

I'm on a win 10 64 bit PC with 8gb ram& also experiencing crashing during the splash screen loading at the 'loading waveform monitor' step:-

Resolve14.JPG (59.68 KiB) Viewed 13963 times

This is the first time I have loaded Resolve (any version), so it can't be a Resolve 12 database legacy issue for me, at least initially. I've tried running as admn, same result. I've looked for the waveshell driver commented above to remove it from its folder, but I don't appear to have it. As a test, after multiple fails trying to get Resolve14 to work, I uninstalled & tried Resolve 12 - that worked straight away. I then went back & tried Resolve 14 again, but still failed.

Hope my post plays a small part in helping BMD to find a fix, I'm looking forward to having a play with Resolve 14

Update : still crashing, I've now given up and headed back to 12.5 so I can carry on working

I've tried the completely removing DR version 14, PostgreSQL, data files and services account, and also the Microsoft Visual C++ libraries, installing everything again from scratch, but the problem persists.

The error is created by MSVCR120.dll, which is part of the Visual C++ 2013 library, so I expect that's where the problem lies. There's various versions installed on my system, but without a steer from Black Magic on which file/path DR14 references and which version is required, I'm not going to start digging around to resolve it.

Seems the same problem is being discussed in a number of threads here now....

I note that there are other posts in the forum with the same subject / issue.

A BMD employee is responding on some of these, and it seems that the issue is with PC's which have two GPU's/Processors, R14 hanging when it tries unsuccessfully to talk to the second processor.

I know my laptop (Sony) has two graphics processors, a low power one and a high power one. So I suspect this might be my issue

FIXED (for me) Crash on start using Resolve 14 Beta 2 (hang at loading panels)!
Windows 7 pro 64, Xeon e5472, 6GB ram ,nvidia 560ti 1GB (378.92)

However when importing a 1080p50 h264 dslr clip, it asks for confirming project/timeline settings to clip and than it crashes.

just in case anyone see's this post & not the larger post on Beta bugs.....

I initially tried Resolve 14 beta 14.0b1 (windows) & on my win10 64bit PC it kept crashing at the splash screen during 'waveform monitor loading'. I tried alot of the advice on this thread, but nothing worked for me.

I've now download 14.0b2 & this has now loaded past the splash screen.

Just thought I'd post for completness.

I was working with resolve 14 beta 1 for some days until it crashed (when I clicked the previous-to-the-last tab). After that I wasn't able to start it again, it always crashed. After I read some posts in the forum I uninstalled beta 1 and installed beta 2, but still the same problem - crash when showing the splash screen ('waveform monitor loading').

When reinstalling I didn't select the database to be installed - if I do so, then I'll get an error 'password requirements not met'.

I created my project in resolve 14 beta 1. If I don't get my resolve 14 running, am I able to open the project in resolve 12.5 or is it incompatible with that version?

Running CaptureLogs.bat gives me following zip file:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8P7o ... VJRQkRrWjg

I use win10 64bit. Some help would be very much appreciated.
Other than that: Great software guys!
