keyframing OpenFX?

PostFri Aug 18, 2017 7:50 pm

Hi,

has anyone a tipp how I can set keyframes in an OpenFX? Is it possible to keyframe OpenFX-Video-Effects? I want to have a OpenFX mosaic blur, that is increasingly more coarsely pixelated.

Thanks for any hint!

You can do it using the keyframe editor on the Color Page.
Resolve 14.3 Studio. GTX 970 with GeForce 390.77 driver. Desktop Video 10.9.10. Intensity Shuttle USB 3.0. Windows 10 Pro.

Many Thanks!!

For others searching how to do it: you have to apply the OpenFX-effect in the color page on a node.

Is there a good workflow for timing that? I have a scene with the same actor on both sides with one closer to the camera and a gradient mask in their overlap. I want to simulate pulling the focus by animating the gaussian blur, but in the color editor you are keyframing one clip at a time which makes this a bit of a bear. I suppose I could prerender the two clips into a single clip and then use a couple power windows to animate the effect. And I could imagine sending that scene to fusion to pull it off? Is there a more simple way to do this?

Could you combine the clips by making them into a compound clip?

Are all OpenFX effects keyframeable? I'm using lens flare and I want to fade it in, but I can't see a place to add the keyframes. Even in the keyframe editor window, I can't see where to do this. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

In the node window, you can switch between clip mode and timeline mode, in timeline mode you can add nodes that work across all clips in the timeline. So you could add the OpenFX to a node in timeline mode and keyframe it to affect just the two clips you work on.

Would that be a way for you?
