14.0.1 Suite. Optimized Media problem

Hi,

I'm very new to this DR stuff in particular and video edition in general.

Windows 10 Pro
DaVinci Resolve Suite 14.0.1
Original files 1920x1080:29.97p, 50Mbps (IPB) (LPCM).
Tried with Uncompressed 10-bit and DNxHr, just in case. Same behavior.

I have just tried the Optimized Media option of DR. The optimized files are created without any problem but as soon as creation is finished DR can't see them an marks clips as offline. If I uncheck the "Use Optimized Media if Available", original files are used and the problem disappears.

When creating the optimized files I can see them in the file explorer, they are really created.

Any advice?

Am I the only one with this problem?
If so, it may be user error.

I’m on a Mac so not sure if that makes a difference. If you have your Project settings using Optimized Media, I don’t think you need to de anything else in Resolve. Resolve will use your Optimized Media for the Timeline and when you go to the Deliver page, you can use that to generate your deliverables or tell Resolve to use your original media which is what I do. I’ve never looked at the Optimized Media on my System, but I know it’s there when I delete the Optimized Media from the Playback menu when the project is finished.

Check the location of the optimized media folder is on a drive you have access to and can write to. Check you can write to th first drive you listed in preferences, hardware, media storage.

Select DNxHD for your optimized media format.

All those options checked and all of them are correct. Same problem.
