media offline issue

I just opened up a project created a month ago. when i scrub trough the timeline, alot of clips are showing the media offline image. when i press ''f'' they just appear in the source monitor like there's nothing wrong. when i rightclick -> show file location, it also looks fine. I did use ''create optimized media'', and found in other topics that deleting them might help. in my case it doesnt. it's also kind of inconsistent, the same files sometimes show the media offline image and at other times just black, and sometimes a few frames of online, working footage. i tried to force reconnect them, or change the cache mode, but no luck.

anyone with a magic wand?
