Resolve 15.2 grinds to a halt

PostTue Nov 20, 2018 4:23 pm

Sometimes Resolve 15.2 Studio grinds to halt. I have to weit 10 to 20 seconds before I can continue.
That issue wasn't in version 15.1

not even a bit of information about your system or whatever you do with Resolve?

The most important part for Resolve is the GPU. Don't you have one?

That's a start, thank you. But you still don't mention your operating system nor your graphics card.

I tried to do that, but during uploading the file I always get an error when 75% are uploaded. (Filesize: 83MB)

Put it on a cloud service like Dropbox and post the link here (with a space somewhere in the URL).

Same thing happened to me as well.

Nothing changed in my system whatsoever so please don't ask about specs and configs.

Installed 15.2 and thumbnails took forever to refresh or appear and scrolling the clips just grinds to halt!

Same on the Lightbox page.

Reverted back to 15.1.2 and all is well.

There seems to be all kinds of other issues people are having as well.

Blackmagic, please don't add new features if it means breaking everything else.

Hey I know . . .

How about this instead.

Like fixing the horrible timeline lag in the edit page that's always been there . . .

AND emulate Premiere so we can dump that and edit in Resolve.

Or how about fixing the issue when I select in and out points on the deliver page, and keep it from selecting a different spot than the one I chose . . .

Or how about making the UI completely customizable like Adobe does. It's really quite astonishing that of all the programs on the planet, to not have that in Resolve is just mind boggling. If any program cries out for the need to be able to tear off panels and resize them and move and place them on any monitor, and save the layout, it's Resolve. And when you click Alt-F to open the mid-view to do closeup work, there's no ofx panel or nodes. But if we could tear off any panel we choose, then we could have a large viewer AND those other panels available all at the same time.

I'll stop there and save the rest for another post . . .

Hello. We do not see this issue here. So we need your help. Could you please pm me with a project which shows this issue and a screen recording showing the problem?

Not had any problems running 15.2 on my system. No lag in the timeline or slow refresh of thumbnails.
Extrabyte, I chose Resolve because it is Resolve. Why on earth would I want it to emulate Premiere? If that were the case I would have gone with Premiere instead.

And we should now search the forum for your specs and configs because you are unable or unwilling to put at least minimum informations in your signature?

Works fine here. Must be a problem on your side.

No thanks. Resolve should be Resolve and not a clone of a different product.
