Apple ProRes Export on Windows

So, Adobe have announced Apple ProRes Export on Windows System, should we waiting 15.3 with same ability?

And does our favorite team (BMD of cause!) plan to expand the list of supported codecs?

I suppose it depends on how much Adobe paid Apple. Or maybe the Phones & Watches company changed their politics and is dropping video editing altogether?

Maybe braw had something to do with it.

Since you can’t encode into Braw, that should be a good reason for BM to support it too. I wouldn’t mind a few extra cents for it, can’t be so expensive to license it if Fusion has it for 299,-

There are so many ways to convert to ProRes on Windows, i really dont think that BM should pay Royalties to Apple to be able to export it directly. Personal opinion: Apple and professional Video is over anyway.

I think Blackmagic needs to add ProRes exports to Davinci Resolve on Windows ! If you look at the Blackmagic pocket 4K camera - it will record in prores but not in DNxHR!

I don't agree. Creating an immediate output and then the final output to prores to the client. It takes a lot of time to do.

Prores isn't over until clients and studios/distribution houses stop asking for delivery in it. It's not worth the time or effort to try convince them about accepting other formats.

That being said, I now usually throw in a IMF deliverable along with the prores, even if they don't ask for it.

Several of them are quite legal and professional colorists and finishers use them regularly.

They do cost more than Resolve does, but other than Blender that's true of pretty much everything in the entertainment tools biz

I would gladly pay more on top of my studio version to have Prores available inside Davinci.
