Using Camera raw on Mavic D-Log clip

PostSat Jan 19, 2019 6:06 am

I generally film in D-Log on my Mavic Pro 1. I save as MP4 files.

I am relatively new to using DR 15 and would like to use the Camera Raw option to work on my clips but the options are all greyed out. I presume DR is not recognising the clips as being in Raw format.

Is there any way to force DR to recognise the files?

MP4 is not Raw.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

Maybe it is my ignorance but all I have read suggests that D-Log on the mavic gives a raw file, however the only 2 options for the video are MOV and MP4. I normally use MP4. Maybe D-Log is not really a raw format.

No, D-log is just a log curve, the Mavic is only recording H.264 in both types of container.

But I'm sure that manufacturers like the misunderstanding provoked: to assume RAW if they only have any kind of Log ;-)

Since the Mavic is recording a pretty low data rate of 60 mbps, RAW is impossible. I'd even avoid log if your scene doesn't demand it.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.
