Resolve Studio (15.2.4.6) Won't Start

PostThu Feb 21, 2019 12:51 am

I've been having an odd problem lately. Resolve doesn't seem to be able to get past the splash screen. It hangs (even after restart) on "Loading Project Settings". This has happened on the previous 2 versions of Resolve 15 as well. I was able to use the program normally after updating Resolve to this current version, then after about a week this splash screen hang up occurred and now I can't seem to get Resolve to open at all.

UPDATE: I tried to open resolve again (having not changed anything) and now it hangs on "Loading Media Page". Everything else seems to be the same.

Here's the zip the CaptureResolveLogs.bat script spit out (the program was at the stuck point in the splash screen when I ran the script):

It would be helpful to have a Windows System Information .NFO file.

I Figured it out. For some reason, GPUTweakII's Monitor/OSD overlay software and Resolve don't get along. Unfortunately I can't blacklist Resolve from the OSD because it doesn't show up in the list of available programs to blacklist. As soon as I closed GPUTweak Monitor (not GPUTweak), Resolve fired right up.

Such an odd problem... :?:

That program may have been using the same API as the Resolve program. Perhaps there was a conflict?

I suspect that is correct. It's a minor inconvenience, and ultimately I'm just happy I figured out what the problem was!
