Transport controls - second click on 'play' should 'pause'

PostSun May 06, 2018 5:27 pm

I realize this is a minor issue but really - clicking on a play button a second time should pause the transport just as the space bar does. I know this has been mentioned before. The idea that you have to move your mouse to an explicit 'stop' button just doesn't feel right.

My solution for this would be to get a control panel. Even the cheap ones have play/stop buttons, and that's a much better way to work than with a mouse (for most people, but not everybody).

Or use the keyboard. Spacebar to stop start. JKL to shuttle around.

[1] I'm a beginner of DaVinci Resolve 18. I felt the same thing as Steve Alexander.

[2] "Keyboard: Space bar to stop start, JKL to shuttle around" is easy for users who use DaVinci Resolve every day,
but not for beginners who use mouse mainly.

[3] "1st click ---> Viewer runs and Play button becomes gray to red.
2nd click ---> Viewer stops and Play button becomes red to gray."
is done in DaVinci Resolve some page, but majority pages are not.

[4] All pages should be [3]. I think the work of [3] is a work "before breakfast" or "easy as pie" for DaVinci Resolve programmers.
