PostSun Jul 05, 2020 8:29 am

Studio kept crashing for me, so i tried the free version but that also crashes, even with no color grades.
Please help me. Large projects are basically impossible right now.

There is only one log in the diagnostics log you sent. There should normally be up to 11, as we keep the last 5 good logs and last 5 bad logs. So I would expect to see logs from your Studio install, and I don't.

If you did a complete clean install of Resolve, using methods I've posted in other threads in this forum, that could explain the lack of logs. Otherwise, it's a bit confusing.

It would be helpful if you could send a project export .drp file of the jbfc project you were using. You can do that from the Project Manager page by right clicking the project and selecting Export Project. You don't need to load the project.

And it would be helpful to see a Windows System Information .NFO file. You can generate this by opening Windows System Information, and doing a File - Save.

Put the files on a file sharing site, and provide a link to the files here.

Hi, thanks for the reply. The logs must've gone away when i did the clean re-install.

I'm guessing resolve was crashing cuz windows doesn't want a single app to use 7-9gb out of 16gb available.

I've limited resolve's ram usage in the setttings, and it hasn't crashed for a while ... I'll let you know if it works.

That's unlikely.

Does this have something to do with Processing Mode?
Does openCL perform better than Cuda for a gtx 1050?

Normally not, CUDA has always been the better solution for Resolve in my experience.
But then, the 1050 is a pretty limited GPU. What's your timeline resolution?
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

That shouldn't happen with the 1050 and timelines up to HD. Are you sure you got the right driver?

As a general rule, terms like "latest", "current", "newest", etc. are meaningless

It's best to list out the specific version number.
